Located right at the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, in the county of Alto Gállego (Huesca), some 160 km from Zaragoza, very close to Sabiñanigo train station and only four and a half hours by car from Madrid, we find the Tena Valley.
This valley is home to four main towns which help to make it one of the most densely populated parts of the region: Sallent de Gállego, Hoz de Jaca, Biescas and Panticosa. These four localities attract a great number of tourists annually, made up both of visitors who come to practise mountain sports and of those wishing to enjoy the delights of some of the prettiest mountain towns of the Pyrenees.
Gastronomy is one of the strong points of the Aragonese Pyrenees and tasting its delicacies is not to be missed. There are two local restaurants of particular renown: The Casa Ruba in Biescas and the Embalse del Pueyo in Jaca.

Winter
Formigal resort is positioned in a privileged location which guarantees a good quantity and optimum quality of snow on its 137 skiable kilometres distributed over more than 100 slopes around the four valleys it comprises. Numerous programmed activities take place every year on the slopes, including snowbiking, snowshoeing, snowmobile, dog sledging, Ratrak skiing and heliskiing. These activities are backed up by the ease of access to the slopes which have 4 parking areas at their disposal, located in each of the valleys making up the Formigal resort. It has 101 slopes and 21 ski lifts with capacity for transporting 36,860 skiers/hour, with one 8-seat chairlift (one of a kind in Spain), four 6-seat, five 4-seat and one 2-seat chairlifts, five T-bars and five magic carpets.
Summer
The Tena Valley, at the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, offers all kinds of attractions during the summer months. The most common are the sports and activities in the middle of nature which can be enjoyed with family or friends (rides on horseback, mushing, rafting, quad biking, canoeing, activity parks... But the Valley also boasts rich gastronomy and great cultural interest, with, for example, its fiestas, architecture and the renowned South Pyrenees Festival, where an attractive programme of concerts takes place for almost two weeks in an unbeatable setting.
For Cycling and Mountain Biking enthusiasts, the possibilities are endless, with all kinds of routes: family, sporting, adventure, cultural... The Hotel HG Alto Aragón has a high-end Mountain bike rental service for its customers.
